Old Bordenian 6th XI - 4
Maidstone - 4
The OB's 6ths were put under pressure by Maidstone, the league leaders, from the start and yielded twice in the first ten minutes to find themselves 2-0 down. Following some positional changes, the OBs looked to have a better shape and started to create their own chances. They pulled one back when Robinson scored from a short corner, and equalised from a predator's strike by Stevens and took the lead just before half time when Robinson struck again.
After half time, early Maidstone pressure produced an equaliser. The OBs dominated from then on and should have gone ahead when Stevens crashed a reverse stick strike against the post. Maidstone pulled ahead again, somewhat against the run of play, when they outpaced the OBs' defence following a speedy break from defence. A final OBs' onslaught produced an equaliser just before the final whistle, when Robinson completed his hat-trick.
Mention should be made of an excellent goal keeping debut from Rob Hoddinott.
