Gillingham Anchorians – 4

Old Bordenian 6th X1 - 0

The OBs' 6ths found themselves up against a stronger than expected Anchorians side.

Despite being on the back-foot for the first quarter, the Bordenians' defence prevented Anchs from any real scoring opportunities. In their usual style, the OBs started to create the better chances, but found themselves up against a very strong 'keeper. Anchorians scored first, partly as a result of the OBs pushing higher up the pitch and hence leaving themselves open to counter-attacks.

In the second half, the OBs vulnerability to counter-attacking play was again exposed, and they conceded three goals and only for some excellent keeping by Dan Ford, could have conceded further goals. The OBs created a number of scoring opportunities of their own, but could not beat the excellent Anchs keeper. In the end the fitter and more skilful Anchs midfield proved to be the real difference between the sides
