Old Bordenian 5th X1 -1

Sutton Valence - 3

After the ups and downs of the last two weeks, Old Bordenins' fifth XI had their first competitive match of the season.  Valence started strongly but an excellent breakout by OBHC resulted in a cross field pass to Matt Cook who found Craig Williams in the D for an outstanding finish.  The goal was followed by sustained Sutton Valence pressure, well defended by Andy White, Dave Crombie, John Miller, Tom Wiseman and James Anderson in goal.  Eventually the visitors scored an equaliser.  Meanwhile, OBHC were launching some effective counter-attacks and created several good chances.

Immediately after the break, Bordenians put in an excellent attack, however this was followed by sustained Sutton Valence pressure which was aided by their effective use of substitutes and resulted in two goals.  OBHC continued to counter and had several more scoring opportunities before the final whistle.
