Holcombe – 0
Old Bordenian 5th X1 - 3
A good team performance by Old Bordenians resulted in their third win of the season.
Old boys started strongly with fifteen minutes of sustained pressure capped when Callum Stevens crossed to Paul Gower who deftly slid the ball into the goal. Holcombe began to exert pressure but strong midfield and defensive play prevented any meaningful chances from being created. Bordenians continued to attack and goals from Callum Stevens and Matt Hopkins followed.
Holcombe began the second half in a much more organised manner and the Bordenian defence was put under significantly more pressure. Stand-in goalkeeper Andy White made several excellent saves. As the half progressed Holcombe became increasingly frustrated with their inability to score, as a result Old Boys were able to mount more attacks but these were held by determined defensive play by the home side.
