Old Bordenian 5th X1 – 1

A disappointing result for Old Bordenian 5ths after last week's big win.  The first half was tight, with Bordenians absorbing pressure and having a break out goal disallowed.  Holcombe eventually scored from a short corner, exploiting Old Bordenians' stand-in 'keeper's inexperience.

During the second half the home side increased the pressure and eventually overwhelmed the Bordenian defence, converting a series of short corners and attacks into goals.  Late in the second half Alex Shaxted scored a deserved consolation goal for a Bordenian side that had not given up.
