Marden – 1

Old Bordenian 4th X1 - 1

The fourth eleven came back to steal the points after going one goal down against Marden. It was the team's positive attitude and patience that paid off again this week. In a very close game, Bordenians' combination of experience and flair led to two goals, scored by Jon Robbins and Paul Young, late in the second half.

Simon Robbins and Brian Lane provided a solid base for the young forwards to build upon supplying them with the ball and the confidence to have a go. Despite the fact that the Marden defence played very well, thwarting numerous attempts to get shots off in the D, Michael Neame and Jamie Cashman both kept playing in a disciplined manner ensuring that the ball stayed in the Marden half for the majority of the game. Anytime Marden did mount an attack, Stephen Bond and Richard Gower were there to prevent any further serious attempts at scoring.
