Old Bordenian 4th X1 – 4

King's College - 4

The Old Bordenian 4th X1 were up against a very strong team from King's College and any slip-ups were efficiently punished by some good short corner routines. However in open play the Old Boys more than held their own. Stephen Dale was in fine form and managed to capitalise on the support he was given by James Elkin and Paul Young. Again it was the home team's balance of experience and youthful energy that paid off and allowed them to be 4-3 up, with goals from Dale 3 and Jamie Cashman, until the last play of the game. Then the quality of a reverse stick shot left the Old Boys' defence no chance, especially after such a long half. Stephen Bond made an extremely valuable contribution in defence and displayed his ability to cope with more able strikers.
