New Beccehamians - 1

Old Bordenians 4B X1 -  4

Bordenians travelled to south London to take on an experienced New Beccs side who were second in the table, and came away with a clear, if not comprehensive, victory. Rory Bollard continued his good start in the side when he coolly slotted home after Andrew Hitchinson intecepted a slack cross-field ball, and this was doubled before half time by Andrew Sellar. Bordenians played an effective pressing game for the rest of the half, but found it difficult to convert the pressure into goals as their slick passing of previous weeks deserted them.

The second half began with a third goal, again by Sellar, before New Beccs hit back from a short corner. The game continued largely devoid of pattern as Bordenians created pressure and problems for themselves. The visitors however always had plenty in reserve and a breakaway found Bollard on the far post and he instinctively snatched a fourth which leaves Bordenians at the top of the league.
