Old Bordenian 4A X1 – 3
Old Williamsonians – 2
For the entire first half, Bordenians played far below par, their lacklustre performance resulting in a deserved 1 – 0 lead for OWs at the half-time whistle.. OWs increased their lead with another goal and there were few signs at this stage that Bordenians could claw their way back into the game. All was changed by a few seconds' brilliance from captain, Neil Willis, who picked up the ball on the OWs' 25 yard line and proceeded to jink his way through the defence, avoiding any attempt at a tackle, and firing the ball past the 'keeper. This was the inspiration which Bordenians clearly needed and from this moment the balance of play shifted markedly in their favour and, for the rest of the match, they played the style of hockey which has ensured the top slot in this division. Two further goals from Willis secured the points for Bordenians..
