Herne Bay – 4

Old Bordenian 1st X1 - 1

Old Bordenians showed how their inconsistency in this league is costing them points as they threw away the opportunity to make up ground on third place.

With several players missing this week, OBs were put on the back foot from the first whistle but had seemed to soak up the pressure for the first fifteen minutes and started to create opportunities to open the scoring.  If they had been able to take the lead, the result may have been very different but just before half time Herne Bay took the lead through some good fortune.

Only one goal down going into the second half, OBs would usually come bouncing back but, with confidence appearing to be low, they allowed Herne Bay in twice to take a three goal lead before Joe Love pulled one back for OBs, however Herne Bay still continued to play with confidence and added one more before the end.

A lacklustre performance from OBs means they will need to pick themselves up for the visit of Horsham this Saturday.
