Old Bordenian 1st X1 – 2
Worthing - 3
Despite a positive start from Old Bordenians, they were unable to sustain their performance for the full 70 minutes in order to collect their second win of the season.
OBs had all the early pressure and it was no shock when Joe Meaning opened the scoring for them after 15 minutes, which was shortly followed by a ruthless short corner strike from Joe Love to give OBs a two goal lead. Worthing got their breakthrough with five minutes remaining in the first half, penetrating OBs' defence with an aerial pass.
In the second half, Worthing came out determinedly and, spurred on from their goal late in the first half, they put good pressure on OBs and leveled the scores after 20 minutes. OBs held out strongly after that and had opportunities on the counter-attack to take the lead and all 3 points, however a moment's lapse in concentration gifted a goal to Worthing with only 5 minutes remaining and OBs were unable to reply.
There were many positives to take out the game for OBs and they look forward to traveling to Tunbridge Wells next week.
