Old Bordenian - 6
Herne Bay - 4
Bordenians had to come from behind yet again but secured another valuable three points on Saturday.
The first half started out fairly evenly with OBs creating the better chances but it was Herne Bay who took advantage of a lack of concentration from OBs and they managed to go two goals up in the space of ten minutes. OBs continued to create the better chances in the half and got themselves back in the game with a clinical finish from Joe Meaning. At half-time Herne Bay were ahead but OBs felt confident of turning it around.
A rejuvenated OBs came out in the second half knowing the game was in their hands and after several short corners OBs levelled the score thanks to Glenn Prebble. The joy was short lived for OBs as Herne Bay quickly hit back to take the lead again. OBs still knew the game was there for the taking and goals in quick succession from Meaning, Prebble and Burwood saw OBs take the game by storm and put it beyond the reach of Herne Bay. Herne Bay battled hard and managed to claw one goal back but to no avail as OBs run out comfortable 6 – 4 winners.
Yet again OBs showed tremendous character and determination to come from behind and were deserved winners. Next week OBs travel to Horsham for their next league encounter.
