Eastbourne – 6
Old Bordenian 1st X1 - 5
It was a long drive home for Old Bordenians after they had thrown away 3 points on Saturday.
Bordenians dominated from the start and took the lead early in the first half through Joe Meaning who converted a penalty flick. This lead was extended midway through the half when David Wherrell converted from a short corner. OBs continued to create good opportunities and enjoyed the majority of the possession, however Eastbourne gave themselves a life-line just before half time to make it 2 -1.
The second half was very similar to the first with OBs dominating and giving themselves a two goal lead three times in the second half thanks to a hat-trick from Joe Love. Despite this dominance, Bordenians, believing that their work was done, were punished as Eastbourne were allowed to score 3 times in a short space of time to take all the points.
It was hard lesson for Bordenians and there were many positive points from the game, however they must learn from these mistakes and ensure that they take three points when they deserve them.
