Ashford – 9
Old Bordenian 1st X1 - 0
OBs suffered their heaviest defeat of the season when they visited league leaders Ashford.
Ashford took the lead in the opening five minutes and never looked back, capitalizing on mistakes from OBs and playing well constructed hockey. It was a comfortable first half for the home side who added a further 4 goals before the break giving them a 5 goal lead. OBs created 2 or 3 good opportunities and were unlucky not pick up a goal.
OBs created better chances in the second half, forcing some saves from the Ashford 'keeper and hitting the post but the quality of Ashford was clear for all to see and they managed to score a further four goals to win comfortably.
OBs need to pick themselves up and put in a strong finish to the season if they want to finish where they deserve to be.
