Burnt Ash Under 16 X1 – 0
Old Bordenian Under 16 X1 – 13
Old Bordenians started the match strongly, controlling the ball in the middle through David Baker and Jamie Cashman, using simple passes to enter the opposition's D. After 5 minutes, the away side opened the scoring with a well worked move down the left finished by Oliver Hewlett. Bordenians continued to attack the Burnt Ash goal and, minutes after the first, Hewlett stroked in his second after Bradley Barrett's initial shot was saved. The third came moments later when captain Jamie Cashman picked up the ball in the middle, beating several players and placing the ball into the back of the net. Burnt Ash brought more players back to try and give no route through for more Bordenian goals. The boys upgraded their attacking chances for short corners, which Dan Glazier took control of, and scored two in the first half. In the second half Michael Willis stepped forward to add more pressure and scored three great goals, beating the 'keeper purely with positioning of the ball rather than power. Glazier and Cashman both scored two more in the second half giving three Bordenain players hat-tricks by the end of the game. Rob and Becky Elgar kept it tight in the defence, making some great challenges and moving the ball through to attacking players well.
